Licensing

The University has several volume licensing programs in place to serve our community. Volume licensing programs allow us a lower cost distribution method than traditional boxed products. For example, UVM's Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) provides certain Microsoft software for all University-owned computers free of charge. See www.uvm.edu/it/software/licensing/ees/ for details.

Actively* employed faculty and staff may purchase Microsoft Office for Windows or OS X at significant savings through the Home Use Program, part of EES. See www.uvm.edu/it/software/licensing/ees/hup/ for details--a UVM Net-ID login is required.

All new systems purchased by departments will have Microsoft Office and the UVM Internet Suite** installed for free.
(**-AntiVirus software, SSH/SFTP/Telnet client, Oracle Calendar, Cisco VPN client, Firefox, Thunderbird. This list may be updated without notice.)

Regarding Boxed Academic Versions...

In those cases where licensing is not an option, we offer boxed academic versions of software applications at very competitive educational pricing. Unless stated otherwise, the software items listed below are not Boxed Academic Versions. If you wish to purchase software other than what is listed here, please contact us by phone or e-mail depot@uvm.edu, and we'll be happy to respond with pricing information.

The above products' warranties vary by manufacturer. Please ask a Depot sales representative for details. The Computer Depot is an authorized service provider only for Apple and select Dell products. Departmental Information

All system orders must be placed via a requisition through PeopleSoft. Please see our Departmental Ordering "landing" page for more info and the link to PeopleSoft ordering. Peripheral- and software-only orders may be placed with your chart string via email or in person.

Miscellaneous

Network cable not included with systems; please add it to your order if necessary.

For individual purchases we accept Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, CAT$cratch, checks, and cash. A 10% non-refundable deposit is required to place an order (not applicable to departmental orders).
